Yes, I'm still alive.
Alright, so I've been ridiculously negligent about being on dA and I haven't done much, aside from lurk, when I am on. I would make excuses, but they are simply excuses. So instead I shall spill what I've been up to and catch up those who care on my life:
1: Boyfriend. He's awesome and I think I'll keep him.
2: Work: Crazy busy at work and putting in quite a bit of time at the office. I really do like what I do though...
3: Fun: The Sacramento area is awesome and there is so much to do.
4: Vacation: I've been on quite a few trips this year and next year looks even more packed...which means pictures (yay!)
5: Technical Difficulties: I really need a desktop and my workhorse laptop is pretty useless for Fractals and Photoshop. Expect limited work that requires the use of software as I'm working from my netbook.
6: The Future: I will be embarking on the epic (and sometimes tragic/frustrating and always crazy) adventure of buying a house. Wish me luck.
7: Books are fabulously fun: So with all the long cross country flights comes a lot of reading time. Here are a few books I've absolutely loved and some I've just enjoyed:
The Stories of Ibis: A sci-fi novel that is a collection of short stories told by the AI Ibis. Highly Recommended!
Shadow Prowler: First in a series. Magicians, shamans, elves, ogres, goblins, dwarves, demons, orcs, zombies, and more. Well written and has me hooked, must find next book!
The Windup Girl: Dark and insightful book that addresses some tough topics and pulls back the veil on the ugly side of politics and power. A good read for sci-fi readers, but there is some mature material and quite a bit of violence.
So, what are you reading and how has life been treating you? Any book recommendations?
